Billy "Bill" Nichols

Billy Nichols, 83, of Friona, Texas passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2024. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM Monday April 15, 2024 at Nazarene Family Church, 1410 La Plata Street in Hereford, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Billy “Bill” was born on April 24, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Clyde and Valgene Nichols. He graduated from High School in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Billy served in the United States Air Force for four years.  He then met and married his best friend on March 17, 1966. Billy worked for the railroad for over 30 years before he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling in his RV, going to places like Ruidoso where he enjoyed fellowship with friends.  Billy cherished moments with his family and dedicated most of his free time to them.  He especially enjoyed laughter; his sense of humor was priceless.  He was loved by so many and will be truly missed.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Valgene Nichols and one brother, Doyle Nichols.

Survivors include his wife, Francis Ann Nichols of the home; his son, Gregg Nichols and wife Melanie of Amarillo, Texas; his daughter, Michelle Sauviac and her husband Jason of Lewisville, Texas; his sister, Glenna Swaner of Snyder, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Shawna Nichols, Jennifer Sutton, Kelton Day and Brendon Day; eight great grandchildren, Caden Day, Miles Day, Lainey Day, Ava Day, Braedon Nichols, Cayden Nichols, Adriana Nichols and Caitlynn Nichols.
