Evelyn "Eve" Nichols Obituary

Eve Nichols was born on December 16, 1934 in Meadow, TX to Sam and Mae Smith. On March 19 of 2024 at 11:13 AM, Eve Nichols marched into heavens gates with the same fierceness she commanded here on earth. Psalm 27:1-The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strong hold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

Eve was opinionated about most things from her love for our soldiers, to what kind of fertilizer you should be using in the garden. She was a no nonsense Texas woman who loved out loud and had the best laugh. She loved the Lord and walked with faith.

A gifted seamstress, she made clothes for every family member, and then some. She taught others to sew as well… With the attitude of a drill sergeant.  Some of us learned quicker than others. Eve’s creativity shone brightly with her talent at oil painting, crafts and design. She passed her artistic creativity onto many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Along with an artistic mind comes big, artistic emotions, there was never any doubt on how she was feeling in any given moment.

Eve made her opinions known, whether you ask her or not. She made herself the boss in her workplaces over the years, for though she was little she was fierce.  And she was known to pick up an equalizer if need be. Eve was respected and loved by those who worked beside her.

Her love for her family was closely followed by her love of gardening and her pets. She could coax anything to grow… Quite possibly because it was scared by her sass. She delighted in each bloom, tending her plants and pond over the years. She has loved many cats and dogs throughout her lifetime… doting on them with special treats, and lots of snuggles.

She spoiled her grandchildren and great grandchildren, usually with an absurd amount of sugar and an abundance of hugs and entertainment. She was a stellar Meme and loved her grand children in such a way that her legacy will always live on through them. We will miss her hugs, spicy attitude, general bossiness, and a lifetime of wisdom that she freely shared. Until we meet again.

Eve Nichols was proceeded in death by her parents, Sam and Mae Smith,  Glyn Williams husband of 20 years, Jesse Nichols husband of 20 years, an infant daughter,  daughter Katrina Jo An Warren, and brother and sister Steve and Caroline Smith.

Eve is survived by her daughter Glynda Markham and husband Bonner, and son Marvin Warren. Grandchildren, Amber Eddins, Chip Markham, Hillary Warren and Brandy Pitts. Great grandchildren, Jaxtin, Natalla, Paisley, Lanie and Peyton. And her favorite niece, Ellen Bates
