Jimmy Lynn Griggs

Jimmy Lynn Griggs, 80, of Amarillo, passed away April 5, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday April 10, 2024 at The Church at Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa Rd, with Pastor Dale Moreland officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 IH-27 in Amarillo, TX. The family will be accepting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday April 9, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.     

Jimmy was born December 13, 1943, in Quanah, Texas to Albert (Jake) Griggs and Nola Newman Griggs. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1962. After graduating, he met and married the love of his life Diana in 1973. Jimmy worked as a blueprint supervisor for over 57 years at ABC Blueprint. He was loved by everyone and had a great sense of humor. Jimmy was a devoted Baptist that loved the Lord and attended the Church at Quail Creek regularly. He loved golf, bowling, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. Even more than sports he loved his fur babies.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Summer Hamilton and husband Micah of Amarillo; sister Wanda Shepard and husband Glenn of Amarillo; sister Terry Huckabay and husband Wade of Montgomery, Texas; and his grandsons, Christopher and Lucas, both of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Albert (Jake) Griggs; Mother Nola Newman Griggs; brother Arlen Griggs and beloved wife Diana Griggs.
