Kathleen Hensley

Kathleen Ann Hensley, celebrated for her warm, soft-spoken demeanor, passed away on April 9, 2024, at age 77 in Amarillo, Texas. Born on July 4, 1946, in Duluth, MN, Kathy was the quiet strength behind many. She embodied a servant-hearted nature through her devoted care for her family, especially her husband, Donald Lee Hensley, affectionately known as "Papa". Kathy and Donald's love story was one for the ages; married initially in 1965, they parted ways in 1974 only to be reunited 44 years later. Their rekindled relationship culminated in nearly six more years of cherished companionship, proving that true love can indeed find its way back.

She often said, "I love you to the moon and back," a sentiment deeply felt by her family. Kathy is survived by her husband; daughters, Sarah Olson (Jerry), Donna Farleigh (Roger), and Terra Ojard; stepdaughters, Wendy Peterson and Ginna Simpson (Shane); and brother, Ned Hanson (Elizabeth). She leaves behind grandchildren Jordan Sebesta (Joe), Alec Olson, Jessie Olson, Maranda Shockley (Scott), Chaz Farleigh, Cody Farleigh, Jake Ojard, Jade Ojard, Jenna Ojard, Gracelynne Simpson, Briggston Simpson, Shelby Simpson; and great-grandchildren, Luke Sebesta, Blake Olson, Anna and Anthony Shockley, Timothy Stonemark, and Finley Ojard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Olga Hanson, and brothers, Michael and Timothy Hanson.

Kathy's life was a beacon of gentleness and unassuming love. As we remember her, we are reminded of the profound impact one loving heart can have. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
