Betty Eileen White, 73, went to meet her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, November 19th, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday November 25, 2019 at Valleyview Church of the Nazarene, 7601 S. Western St. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Betty was born October 13, 1946 to Elmer Arvel Ford and May Read Ford in Amarillo. She worked for over 20 years at Western Plateau Elementary School, where she continued to volunteer even after retirement. She was also actively involved in volunteering at the church. She enjoyed being part of the antique car club and traveling with Charles to car shows. She also shared many trips with her sisters and cousins which always brought about many laughs. Betty truly loved the many family trips over the years with her husband, kids and grandkids. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend. Her greatest joys were her 5 grandchildren who she loved “to the moon and back”.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 53 years, Charles White; her son, David White; her daughter, Karla White Davis; 5 precious grandchildren, Chloe and Caroline White; Christopher, Katelyn and Hailey Davis, her sister Kathy Browning and husband Frank, her sister Sandra Booth and husband Alan, brother in law Gary White and wife Rachel and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Family would like to thank BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their kind and compassionate care in her final months and days. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
