John Michael Morrison Obituary

John Michael Morrison, 17, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Amarillo Fellowship Church, 8425 Bell St. with Pastor Richie Brown officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at Amarillo Fellowship Church. John Michael was born June 30, 2002 in Amarillo to Doug and Amanda Morrison. He attended Randall High School, where he ran track and cross-country. He worked at Jorge’s Mexican Restaurant and Greg Lair Buick GMC. John Michael was an avid car enthusiast. He loved driving and working on his car, knowing everything there is to know. Next to cars he enjoyed running cross country and track, photography, gaming, music and hanging out with friends. John Michael also loved his dog Heidi. He was a faithful volunteer at Amarillo Fellowship in the children’s ministry and on the photography team. John Michael aspired to go to Texas A&M University. The family requests that those attending the funeral wear A&M maroon and white in John Michael’s honor. John Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, W.A. McKinney. Survivors include his parents, Doug and Amanda Morrison; a sister, Madelyn Morrison of the home; two brothers, Britin Morrison and wife Brittany of Amarillo, and Ben Morrison and wife Danielle of Amarillo; grandparents, Linda McKinney, and Johnny and DeWanda Perdue; nieces and nephews, Brylee, Brexten, Kamryn, and Brandon; uncle and aunt, Matt and Sharon Perdue; aunt, Karie Eagleston; cousins, Sarah Perdue, Chesley Perdue, Molly Perdue, Jennifer Finch, Brian Johnson, and Wolfe Eagleston.
