Johnny L. McDonald, 39, of Amarillo passed away Friday, November 22, 2019. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Chaparral Hills Baptist Church; 4000 West Cherry Ave. The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at the funeral home. Johnny was born April 10, 1980 in Amarillo, Texas to Jimmy and Reta McDonald. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1999. Johnny married Misty Bull in Amarillo on March 12, 2005. He was a firefighter for 12 years and was a faithful employee for Express Scales Services. Johnny’s hobbies were fishing and racing. Johnny and his son, Matthew were Best Buds and Racing Buddies. He was truly a hardworking and loyal friend to all who knew him. Johnny was always ready and willing to help others at a moment’s notice. He had a heart that was bigger than his belly and will be missed by many. Johnny loved his family more than life and they were number one to him. He was a kind, caring and loving soul that was taken away too soon and will always be in our hearts. Johnny will be remembered as a dedicated father and loving husband. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Reta McDonald and grandparents, Willie and Peggy Eaton. He is survived by wife of 14 years, Misty McDonald; his proudest accomplishment, son Matthew McDonald; his aunt, Sherry Burge and husband Robert; a cousin, Willie Burge; father-in-law, Roger Bull and wife Lillian; mother-in-law, Pam Ferguson and husband Doug; brother-in-law, Eddie Bull and girlfriend Kati Brown; sister-in-law, Emily Kinder and husband Joel; three nephews, Nathan Bull, Joel Valenciana and Eli Valenciana; two nieces, Mackenzie and Teagan Bull; a great niece, Adeline Bull; The Tony and Debbie Rogers Family; The Ferguson and Bull family;his Express Scale Family and numerous family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Children’s Miracle Network or Tri State Speedway.
