Juanita Rogers, 91, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Roger Hubbard of Lake Tanglewood Community Church officiating. Juanita was born December 18, 1927 in Nocona, Texas to John and Sina Shelton. She attended Amarillo High School. She married Howard Rogers in 1943 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1991. Juanita worked for Caprock Home Health for 10 years as a caregiver. She was a member of the Widowed Persons Group, Santa Fe Railway Lodge, and attended First Baptist Church. Juanita had a very caring servant’s heart. She was a wonderful mother, and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her specialty was an Easter Bunny cake. Juanita adored her cats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Rogers; and a sister, Loetta Southern. Survivors include a daughter, Lana Alston and husband David of Dickinson; a son, Dr. Gerald Rogers and wife Dr. Kaye Renshaw of Lake Tanglewood; a nephew, John Southern of Temple; six grandchildren, Brett Alston, Shawna Alston, Leslie Moore, Keila Alston, Cody Rogers, and John Alston; and nine great-grandchildren.
