Bob Strader

Bob was born August 4, 1928 in Ponca City, OK to Frank and Josephine Strader. He grew up in Pryor, OK. He entered the Army Air Corps at age 16 and proudly served for 2 years. Bob married Jewell Dean Keys in 1949 at El Paso. He worked for Gilvin and Terrill in road construction for 33 years, before retiring in 1982. Since retirement, while living in Valle De Oro, Bob has had many interests. He raised livestock of all kinds and was a beekeeper. He planted a huge orchard of fruit trees. He did road construction work for the community where he lived including putting in sewer lines, etc. Bob was a very talented woodworker. He was a handyman, and was a good neighbor, helping out with all kinds of tasks. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Jewell Dean Strader; one daughter, Patricia Strader; and one son, Robert Strader all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001.
