Abby Elmore

Abby Elmore, 38, of Amarillo passed away Monday, June 18, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Abby was born in Cleburne on March 22, 1980 to Timothy and Diane Slaymaker. She grew up in East Texas, moving to Tarrant County as a child, where she attended L.D. Bell High School. She married the love of her life, Robert in Fort Worth on July 23, 1999. They settled in Amarillo in 2005. Abby worked for Child Protective Services, for 10 years before retiring in 2016. She then began her employment with City of Amarillo Housing and Development, where she was currently employed. Abby enjoyed working in Civil Service, because she always put others first. In her spare time, Abby loved baking and was a talented cake decorator. Her family described her as intelligent, organized, bubbly and compassionate. Those who knew her best referred to her as, "little u", "Prec" and "Babz". She enjoyed country music and was an avid Aggie's fan. Abby was excited for her first grand baby, Rose. Above all else Abby loved her Lord. Survivors include her husband, Robert Elmore, son, Brayden Elmore and fiance, Lilia Salazar; daughter, Regan D. Elmore and granddaughter on the way, Rose, all of Amarillo; brother, Garrett Vaughan of Fort Worth; her mother, Diana Leslie of Ft. Worth; parents-in- law, Phil and Lanita Elmore of New Braunfels; Kay and Jeff Watson, of Ore City; a brother-in-law, Matthew and wife, Mariam of Austin; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Rogers of Ore City and Tiffanie Woods of London, England; and several close aunts, uncles and cousins.
