Allen Leigh Light, Sr.

June 9, 1932 — December 16, 2014

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 am Saturday, Dec. 20th in the Memory Gardens Masoleum Chapel with Charlie Cox officiating Allen "Big Al" Light, 82, of Amarillo was born on June 9, 1932 in Kirby, West Virginia to Denvil and Lottie Workman Light. He worked for years in the coal mines of West Virginia before moving to Odessa to work the "oil boom". He married Mary Helen Abbott on Dec. 17, 1955 in Kirby, West Virginia. He was a US Army veteran. Big Al loved his grandchildren and tinkering in his shop. He is survived by 2 sons, Allen Leigh Light, Jr. and wife Gloria of Corpus Christi, Tx. And Larry Edward Light and wife Julie of Cedar Park, Tx. 1 dtr., Tina Hare and husband Randy of Amarillo. 1 brother Donald Light and wife Janet of George West, Tx. 5 grandchildren, Ryan Light, Ty Allen Light, John Hare, Christina Hare and Ashley Smith. Numerous Nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his Parents, wife Mary Helen Light, one brother, Danny and 2 sisters, Elba and Patsy.
