Allene Sims

Allene Sims, 94, passed away in San Antonio on November 5, 2016. Allene was born in Cave City, Arkansas. She grew up in Abbott, Texas, graduating from Abbott High School. She married Les Sims in 1942. Allene and Les lived in Memphis for over 50 years, where they owned and operated Sims Dept. Store. Later, they traveled in their RV representing several lines of men's and boy's clothing. Allene was an active member of First Baptist Church in Memphis. Survivors include one son, Gary Sims and wife Ramona of Colorado; two daughters, Minka Allen of San Antonio, and Donna Schovajsa and husband Gary of Morton; one sister, Opal Smith of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Les Sims in 2005. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Memphis, PO Box 726, Memphis, TX 79245, or a charity of your choice.
