Allie “Cissy” Kays, 65, of Amarillo, passed away January 6, 2020, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1601 I-40, with Pastor Derek Hall officiating.
Allie Kays was born January 22, 1954 to F.H. and Freda Ruck in Eads, Colorado. As a girl, Allie enjoyed playing with her dolls and spending time with the neighborhood children. She would later graduate from Dumas High school in 1972, and a year later would obtain her LVN license She worked as a nurse for over 40 years. Allie loved to swim and enjoyed going to the lake. In her free time you could find her watching a soap opera and spending time with her grandkids. Her rocking chair was her go to place. She had a green thumb and loved growing plants. Her hobbies also included reading and collecting old records. Above everything, she valued spending time with her family. Allie’s children remember her as a loving and caring mother. She would do anything for them.
Allie was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Audie “Bud” Ruck.
Survivors include her two daughters; Melissa Durling and husband Jason, and Michelle Stills and husband Steven both of Amarillo; one son Michael West of Borger; sister, Alberta Ruck of Amarillo; step mother, Paulette Ruck of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; Stetson, Dakota, Hunter, Gage, Cheyenne, Maddox, Tyler, Addison, and Liberty; survivors also include a host of additional family members.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
