Alvin Pedrieto Stagger's life began on June 17, 1943 on the island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. When he was a young teenager, his family relocated to New York. After graduating from Harring High School, Alvin enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a military police officer for seven years in France and the US. On October 20, 1973, he married Marinell Delores Mickle. After trying out several other Texas cities, they settled in Amarillo in February 1975. Alvin was employed at Owens Corning for 29 years. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Stagger and Leona Small Stagger, his daughter, Marissa Dionne Stagger, and his brother, Louis Stagger. He is survived by his wife, Marinell, a daughter, Désirée de Monyé of Vancouver, WA, a son, Earl Peter Stagger of Phoenix, AZ, and a bonus son, Misha Mayr of El Paso, TX. Alvin is also survived by his sisters in New York, U.S. Virgin Islands, South Carolina, and North Carolina. He has four grandchildren, Lauren, Lillianna, Mark, and Emily and four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Eli, Olivia, and Sebastian, an aunt, an uncle, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A service will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 11 am at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, Amarillo. Viewing will be Wednesday, August 1, 12:30 pm to 8:30pm.
