Amy Janell Burns Burk, 46, of Amarillo, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, September 1, 2017. A celebration of life service will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bell Avenue Baptist Church, 5211 Bell Street, with Pastor Danny Logan officiating.
Amy was born May 6, 1971 in Amarillo, to Robert and Catherine Burns. She was a lifelong resident of Amarillo, attending Western Plateau, Bonham and Amarillo High School. She also studied retail and fashion merchandising at Amarillo College. Amy's greatest joy in life were her children, Ayslinn and Ledger. She enjoyed cooking and creating her own recipes. She loved the first snow of the year, and like her Grandma Burns, would play Christmas music while watching the snow fall. Holidays were her favorite and she went all out to decorate and make them memorable. She was a friend to many and loved to make people laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her Grandma, Lois Burns, Nanny, Mary Chambers, Aunt, Carol Jan Burns, Step-father, Harold Crow and Grandfather, Mack Harms.
Amy is survived by her parents, Robert and Melissa Burns of Amarillo and Cathy Crow of Colcord, OK; her children, Ayslinn and Ledger Burk of Amarillo; sister, Julie Castle and Matt of Amarillo; her aunts, Kitty Applebaum and Scott of Broken Arrow, OK, Lisa Harris of Amarillo, Teri Lynn Butler and Mark of Hutto, TX, Melody Brooks and John of Amarillo; nephew, Dakota Burns of Amarillo; grandmother, Alvana Harms of Amarillo; as well as numerous cousins, other family and a host of friends.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choosing.
