Anita Permenter

Anita Permenter, 66, of Amarillo, died Saturday May 11, 2024. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday May 15, 2024 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. Pastor Craig Albracht officiating. arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Anita was born on April 15, 1958 in Snyder, Texas to Mae and Dewey Permenter. Anita attended Amarillo High School until she received her GED in 1974. Anita married Mike Girty on December 21, 1974. Although this relationship wasn’t permanent, they did have a child together and remained in touch throughout her life.  Anita devoted much of her life to raising her child. When she returned to the workplace, she made lifelong friends at both Lowe’s and Best Buy. Anita loved her family fiercely. Her child and grandchildren were the center of her world. She will be missed by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her beloved partner, Vince Ross of Amarillo; three brothers, Donnie Permenter and wife Cindie; Michael and wife Julie; and Douglas all of Amarillo; a daughter, Susan White and husband Casey; a granddaughter, Macy Fleischman; and three grandsons, Branson Fleischman, Lane Fleischman, and Nolan White all of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, www.rmhcofamarillo.org , Anita’s favorite charity.
