Anna "Samie" Grisham

Anna “Samie” Grisham, 76, of Amarillo, passed away in her childhood home on Saturday, February 24, 2024. No services are scheduled at this time.

Samie was born on October 14, 1947 in Amarillo to John and Marie Roberts. She graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to earn degrees at Amarillo College and West Texas State University. She worked for the VA Medical Center as a health unit clerk in Amarillo for 33 years, retiring in 2021.

Samie loved people and was genuinely interested in listening to people’s stories and learning about them. She appreciated every person’s individuality and loved each one for who they were without judgment. Samie was a very talented pianist and had a deep love for music. She enjoyed time spent with friends, playing games and watching movies. She was a scholar of the Bible and liked sharing her thoughts on spiritual and religious philosophies with others. She loved animals and REAL Cherry Dr. Peppers from Sonic. Samie was a wonderful Mamie to her own grandchildren and to the many “bonus” grandchildren she was blessed to have in her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Samie was preceded in death by her parents; and her best friend, Dorothy Hollabaugh.

Survivors include her son, William “Gus” Grisham, II of Amarillo; grandchildren, William “Trace” Grisham, III, Sydney Ryann Grisham, Ayden Andrews, Garrett Andrews, Parker “Cole” Cooper, Wesley “Davis” Cooper, Samarah Ruiz and Kaden Castillo.
