27 September 1932, Anna Ray Morgan was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Her parents were, Verla and Samuel S. Morgan. She moved to Texas as a small child and lived in Canyon and later in Higgins where she met her future husband C.W. Crouch. They were united in marriage in 1947 in Canadian, Texas. The couple moved to Amarillo where their son Butch was born in 1948.
Texas Carpet was the first of many business ventures that Ann built with her husband. Together they developed commercial properties in Amarillo, Canyon and Hereford. Ann was a private pilot for Crouch Petroleum. The family had various other entities in the oil and gas production.
Ann was an accomplished artist herself, studied for her lifetime under the direction of many local and world renowned instructors. Ann had a vision to renovate the Sunset Center shopping mall. In 2005 she invited local artist to fill the space. Ann Crouch became the owner of Sunset Art Gallery and the Founder of The Galleries at Sunset Center, Amarillo Art Institute and Panhandle Art Center, all under one roof. Ann was faithful in investing in the arts as an art lover, educator and promoter of First Friday Art Walk. Ann's passion, influence and tireless spirit was everywhere. She volunteered her time to her community, Ann served on the Chamber's Amarillo Convention and Visitor Council Arts Committee. She was also a strong supporter and committee member of Friends of Southwestern Art at Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.
Ann Crouch was recognized and awarded the highest honor twice with the Golden Nail Award in 2008 and 2014. She was named as one of the "10 Most Prominent People", in Southwest Art Magazine in 2013. In 2014 Ann received the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution "Women In The Arts Recognition Award". Ann's contribution of fine art and education has been a gift to Amarillo, artist and area art lovers.
Ann Crouch loved animals all her life and rehabilitated many throughout the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband C.W. Crouch, and son Butch Crouch. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, her dogs; Lizzie, Bernard and Vegas also her parrot, Baby Red. A host of friends that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Crouch in 2001, and also by her son, Butch Crouch.
