Annabelle Ritchey

Annabelle Ritchey, 89, of Amarillo, died Sunday, October 7, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at First Baptist Church Chapel, 1208 S. Tyler St. with Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Annabelle was born January 28, 1929 in Windfall, Indiana to Charles and Minnie Weaver. She graduated from Jackson Township High School in Indiana. She married Harold Ritchey on April 6, 1947 in Warren, Indiana. They lived in Amarillo from 1959-1970, when they moved to Houston. They returned to Amarillo in 1979. They were members of First Baptist Church. Harold preceded Annabelle in death in August of this year. While in Houston, Annabelle worked for TG&Y as fabric manager, and later for a drapery company as manager. She worked for the City of Amarillo as a clerk. Annabelle was a Girl Scout leader and had many talents. She was an expert seamstress. She made and painted china dolls. She also taught ceramics at First Baptist Church and at Park Place Towers. She and Harold volunteered at Meals on Wheels and also at the Ronald McDonald Room at NWTH. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold Ritchey; four brothers, Cody Weaver, Kedrick Weaver, Pearlie Weaver, and Bob Weaver; and three sisters, Madaline Dawson, Nina Richardson, and Imogene Miller. Survivors include two daughters, Mona Goodpasture of Dallas, and Lana Fry and husband Jim of Amarillo; a son, Mark Ritchey and wife Nancy Ricca of Fulshear; four grandchildren, Bret Fry, Marnie Vroom, Jared Fry, and Tekla Roberts; and seven great-grandchildren.
