April was born on February 11, 1975 in Canyon. She moved to Claude, before moving to Muleshoe in the 1st grade. She then moved to Amarillo her junior year, graduating from Randall High School in 1993. April then attended West Texas University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She worked for TPMHR as a social worker for over 10 years, before devoting her life to caring for her family. She married Ryan Callis on November 10, 2001 in Amarillo. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her family. Above all, April loved her family. She was an involved mother, homeschooling her children and spending time riding horses and enjoying life with them. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved listening to music of all types.
She is survived by her husband, Ryan Callis of Amarillo; 2 children, Laynee and Charlie Callis of Amarillo; mother, Rhonda Fraser of Claude, father, Gary Hugg and wife Stephanie of Amarillo;father, Gregg Otts and wife Edi of Wylie; sister, Aimee Roberts and husband Jeff of Claude; step brothers, Colten Campbell and wife Juliet of Amarillo and Bruce Hugg of Copperas Cove; grandparents, Inez Pool of Claude and Bill and Donna Forbes of Claude; parents-in-law, Darrell and Diana Callis of Amarillo; brother-in-law, Brent Callis and wife Karen of South Carolina and nieces and nephews, Dakoda Callis of Colorado Springs, Kelsee Roberts of Amarillo, Carsen Roberts of Claude, Kai Campbell of Huntersville, NC, Lincoln Campbell of Amarillo and Grant Campbell of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her step-brother, Paul Hugg in 2014; grandparents, Sue Little in 1998, Brooks Hugg in 1991, Pete Pool in 2004 and James Conrad in 1977 and grandparents-in-law, Charlie Callis, Bill Mahanay and Beulah Mahanay.
