Barbara Jean Bobbitt

September 23, 1945 — January 22, 2016

Barbara was born on September 23, 1945 in Memphis to Herman and Eva Irene Vinson. She was raised in Clarendon, where she graduated from Clarendon High School in 1964. She married Leonard "Buddy" Bobbitt on May 7, 1965 in Clarendon. Together they moved to Memphis, where Barbara devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, working crossword puzzles and refinishing furniture in her spare time as well as staying connected with family and friends on Facebook. She was known to be witty and had a laugh that was contagious to all. Barbara was a member of the Red Hats, where she served as past queen and was a devoted member of Memphis Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband Buddy Bobbitt of Memphis; 3 daughters, Marla Green and husband Randy of Plano, Karla Thomas and husband James of Eula and Shera Carter and husband Charles of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Garey Vinson of Clarendon, Bobby Vinson and wife Charlene of Amarillo and Eddie Vinson of Amarillo; sister, Ava Ontiveros and husband Cecil of Springlake; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Herman Vinson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity in Barbara's memory.
