Barbara Sue Bowsher, 76, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Johnnie Thomason officiating. Barbara will be available for viewing on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 12:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Barbara was born on July 17, 1944 in Memphis, TX to Raymond and Georgia Mae Roberts. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1962 and married her sweetheart Michael Bowsher in 1964 in Amarillo. Barbara loved working with children especially babies. She worked as a nanny for several years and enjoyed having little ones around. Barbara enjoyed country music, quilting and needle work. She was an avid reader and could often be found with a cold Dr. Pepper and a book in hand. Barbara also enjoyed going on drives around town. She was a simple person who loved her family. She will be missed. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Michael Bowsher of the home; two daughters; Lori Thomason and husband Johnnie, and Lisa Gitchell and husband James; one son, Keith Bowsher all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Cheyenne Stanfield and husband Hamilton, Caity Turk and husband Channing, Braxton Bowsher, Jaiden, Kason, Jacey, and Kallie Gitchell; six great-grandchildren, Daxton, Piper Ann, Kiptyn and Sayler Stanfield, Juniper Turk and one on the way; one sister, Janice Whorley of Fort Worth. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be made to Accelerate Christian School and BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
