Barbara was born on November 19, 1950 in Plainview to Charles and Merlene Breeding. She was raised in Floydada, where she attended Calvary Baptist Church before moving to California, where she spent 5 years before moving to Dallas for many years. She later moved to Lubbock, where she attended Trinity Church. 6 years ago Barbara moved to Amarillo. She worked as a waitress and a caregiver throughout her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, china painting and etching as well as gardening in her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Ricki Renee Thomas and husband Troy Lee Thomas of Lorenzo; son, Joseph Jamar Breeding of the Dallas area; grandchildren, Erica, Romeo, Porshe, Dezarae and Sylvia; great grandchildren, Ar'maunte, Alizayiah, Maliayiah and Saniyiah; sister, Carolyn Holmes of Amarillo and brother, Terry Breeding and wife Darlene of Broken Arrow, OK.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Evans and brother, Charles Breeding, Jr.
