Barbara was born on April 28, 1938 in Hooker, Oklahoma to Oscar Reed "O.R." and Mildred Baker Heard. She graduated from Guymon High School before marrying her childhood sweetheart, Johnny Armstead Moreland on August 4, 1956 in Clayton, NM. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2001. She had the heart of a farmer's daughter found great value in her family, hard work and being outdoors. Barbara and Johnny were proud business owners, owning Pumpco Supply of Amarillo Inc. and West Texas Training Center, employing many in the horse racing trait. She was an avid bowler and was a member of Amarillo's 300 Club. Most of all, Barbara was a loving "MeMe" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Sue Ferguson and Wade Dooley of Sunray, TX; son, Jerry Jay Moreland and wife Dana of Amarillo; daughter, Stormie Norman and Brad Phillips of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Patricia Vernon and husband Dallas of Lebanon, MO and Kathryn Boyd and husband Jack of Guymon, OK; sister-in-law, Jane Moreland Ahuero of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren, J.J. and husband Jorde, Jett and wife Karlee, JeNae, Cordia and husband Mitch, Will, Lindsey, Tyrel and wife Lauren and Colt and fiance Abby; 5 great grandchildren, Kyler, Sloan, Ryder, Poppy and Brixton; special friend, Jerry Freed and her beloved dog, Jody.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Johnny Clay Moreland and husband Johnny Armstead Moreland.
