Barbara Jackson

Barbara grew up in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. She married B.G. Jackson on July 5, 1952 at Clovis, NM. She worked for Albertson's as a sales associate for 25 years, retiring in 2001. Barbara was an avid reader. She enjoyed gardening. She loved to bless her family by doing laundry. She had it down to an art, and there wasn't a stain she couldn't get out. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church, West Campus. Survivors include two daughters, Pam Nelson and Sharon Denny both of Amarillo; a grandson, Kris Nelson and wife Carla of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Kelsey Denny of Austin; a son-in-law, Richard Denny of Amarillo; and a great-grandson, Skyler Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.G. Jackson in 2011, and by her brother, Malcolm Rea in 2015. The family suggests memorials be made to Downtown Women's Center, 2477 West I-40, Amarillo, TX 79109.
