Kim Jesse, 63, Amarillo, TX passed away on January 11, 2026, after a long battle with an autoimmune disease. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home on January 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Kim was born on April 22, 1962, to Larry and Johnnie Jesse in Amarillo. She was a lifetime resident of Amarillo and retired from the Amarillo Independent School District where she worked for over 30 years. Kim loved being with friends and family, whether it was on vacation, hosting parties or game nights at her home or snuggling with her beloved dogs/babies. She had an amazing sense of humor, was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved going to new places and experiencing everything they had to offer. She never wanted to miss a thing!
Kim was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Teresa Jesse, her uncle Keith Jesse of Childress, TX and her aunt, Janece Bevers of Granbury, TX.
She is survived by her spouse, Vickie Vernon, her sister, Regina Taylor, her nephew, Chad Taylor, and her best friends, Lynda Damon, all of Amarillo, and Nicole Prather, of Leander, TX. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Alton and Joy Belew of Glen Rose, TX and her aunt, Marilyn Jesse of Childress, TX, and many cousins that she loved. Kim also had Vickie’s wonderful family and many close friends who were just like family to her. She loved them all and she will be sorely missed!
A special thank you to Alton Belew for officiating and for always being our rock when we lose people we love!
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Gracie’s Project, an animal rescue service, in Amarillo.
