Barbara (Carr) Smith

Barbara Carr Smith, 69, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2023 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born June 19, 1954 in Borger, Texas to Kenneth and Eleanor Carr. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Randall Smith on June 9, 1978 in Amarillo. Barbara and Randall raised two sons together, Jason and Matt. Barbara was a devoted mom and wife. She was active with her boys in Boy Scouts and was a PTA parent. Over the years, she worked for AQHA, Greater SW Music Festival, and Olsen Park Elementary School in Amarillo, and Fasco Industries in Cassville, MO. She and Randall attended Central Church of Christ and Church of Christ at the Colonies. They enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV. Barbara was very artistic and enjoyed doing crafts. She was a face painter at FunFest for several years, and was active with the Kwahadi Indian Dancers.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Randall Smith; two sons, Jason Smith (Ashley Smith), and Matt Smith (Lacy Jackson) all of Amarillo; and her brother, Jim Carr (Angie Johnston) of Amarillo.
