Barbara Anne Smith Cowgill

She was born in Canyon, TX on January 7th, 1933 to Walton and Noreen Smith and was raised in Hereford, TX. After graduating from Baylor University in 1956, she worked for the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville, TN. In 1958 she moved to Amarillo where the remainder of her career was with Santa Fe Energy Resources. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Cowgill of 31 years; two sons Jim and Steve Cowgill; and parents. Survivors include Granddaughter, Brittany Cowgill of Indianapolis, IN; Grandson, Spencer Cowgill of Ft. Worth, TX; Sister, Kay Turrentine of Ft. Worth; four nephews, Ron Smith of Arlington and Paige Smith of Lubbock, Don Smith and wife Shawn of El Paso, Brian Smith and wife Michelle of Amarillo, and Brent Smith and wife Maerie of Denton. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the National Cancer Society, Shriners Hospitals for Children or your charity of choice.
