Barbara Taylor

Barbara Taylor, 80, of Amarillo, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at South Lawn Baptist Church 4306 S. Washington with Rev. Greg Kinch officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Barbara was born July 31, 1934 in Rush Springs to Muriel and R.S. Todd. She married Windell Taylor in Clovis, NM, February 6, 1950 and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Having married young, and Windell pastoring many churches, she would play the piano or organ and sing at the church. She loved music and her many church families. To say that family was an integral part of her life would be an understatement. She truly enjoyed being with her family most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Billy and Gary Todd. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Windell Taylor; her children, Larry Taylor and wife Teresa, Greg Taylor and wife Denise all of Amarillo, Jeff Taylor and partner John Lacaria of Austin, and Kim Lopshire and husband Dave of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren, Rhonda Begley and husband Lance and their children Jay and Kaylin, Marc Taylor and wife Rachel and their children Avery and Gage, Tiffany Shelton and husband Phillip and their child Chloe, Lacy Harlin and husband Shane and their child Paisley, Ally Lopshire and Aubrey Lopshire; her sister, Donna Smith and husband Bill of Booneville, AR; her sister-in-law, Kay Todd of Plainview; also surviving her are numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests donations to South Lawn Baptist Church 4306 S. Washington Amarillo, TX 79110.
