Barry Fassauer

Barry Darwin Fassauer, 68, of Amarillo, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and fellow loved ones on Monday, November 8, 2021 after a short, but hard-fought battle with cancer.  Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 12, 2021 at Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Denson officiating.  Family Graveside Service to follow.  Viewing will be from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Barry was born on November 17, 1952 to Arnold Edward and Donna Gayle Fassauer in Amarillo, Texas.  He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1970 where he proudly served as the Loyal Don mascot his senior year.

He married his high school sweetheart, Joy Terry, on June 15, 1973 and they were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Barry, II.  Barry and Joy were married for 17 years.  He later married Vicki Jennings and they were blessed with a daughter, Addison Love.  He was a fun-loving father who taught his children the value of hard work, always encouraged and equipped them to achieve their dreams and cared for them fiercely.  He will be remembered as the “fun dad” that was not only involved in the lives of his children, but also the lives of their friends.

Barry was a jack-of-all-trades and a hard worker.  Throughout his life, he successfully owned and ran after market car enhancement businesses including BJ’s Auto Accents, Dent Pro, and Dent Busters.  He had an eye for detail and was a perfectionist in all areas of his profession.  Barry was a lover of music, humming almost everywhere he went.  He had a giving heart and loved people.  He was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, papaw, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his three children, Kimberly Fassauer-Lueb and husband David, of Lubbock, Texas, Barry Darwin Fassauer, II and Krystle, of Austin, Texas and Addison Love Fassauer of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Conner Lueb and Kingsley Fassauer; three brothers, Gary Fassauer, Larry Fassauer and wife Leann, all of Amarillo, Texas, Terry Fassauer and wife Renee, of Canyon, Texas; two sisters, Charee Knauth and husband Ronnie, and Gina Provence, all of Amarillo, Texas; many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team at Covenant Hospital, Hospice of Lubbock and the Slaton Care Center for their loving care and support throughout the past 8 weeks.
