Bena Elizabeth Melear, of Amarillo Texas, passed away June 2023 after a 4 year battle with cancer.
Bena was born in 1944 to Jessie Mae and Jessie James in Chattanooga Tennessee.
She graduated from Pampa High School in 1962.
She was proud of her career at Bell Helicopter and Pantex. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Bena was very strong in her Christian faith, serving as a leader and teacher in many church families.
She met Calvin Melear in 1998 at church in Amarillo, and they were soon married.
She is survived by her three children Ronnie, Sterling, and Lisa, five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a large loving extended family, and many friends.
Services will be held at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home in Amarillo. The family will receive visitation on June 7th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral service will be on June 8th at 2pm.
