Bessie LaVerne Fogg Lott was born in Bushland on March 9, 1923, to George Bon & Ivory Pearl Fogg. She grew up on a farm with two sisters Leola and Zola and 4 brothers Joe, Fred, Jack and Tom who all preceded her in death.
As a youth, Bessie asked Jesus to be her Savior. She loved sports and played softball, volleyball and basketball. She graduated from Amarillo High School and worked at many jobs as a student and young wife. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and many crafts. She worked in AISD school cafeterias and was manager at Coronado, Belmar and Bowie. She cared for several of her neighbors as they aged. She was an active member of Washington Avenue Chrisitan Church teaching 5-year-olds and faithfully watched First Baptist Amarillo in her later years. She loved history and Israel.
She was preceded in death by a special friend Bennett McCrone. Together they explored panhandle area towns, and they enjoyed playing card and domino games with Amarillo senior citizens.
She is survived by her son Wendell Barnett Lott and her daughter Cinda Jo Lott Callaway and son-in-law James Lelan Callaway of Amarillo, grandchildren Angela Callaway of Houston, Bethany Callaway and Johnny Spencer of Sugarland, Joshua & Elida Callaway of Austin. Two Greatgrandchildren Allen Spencer and Catalina Callaway. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Bessie will be 10:00 AM on Saturday December 11, 2021 at the Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel 4180 Canyon Drive. The family will receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday December 10, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
