Betha Hudson

Betha Hudson passed away on December 22, 2020 at home in Amarillo Texas after a lengthy illness and was surrounded by many members of her family in her final days. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Trinity Fellowship North Campus, 503 East Willow Creek Drive, Amarillo, Texas 79108 with graveside service to follow.

Betha was born Betha Fern Clayton on December 21, 1939 and lived her entire life in Amarillo Texas.  She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1958.  She married her first husband, Frank Lopez of Amarillo circa 1961. While raising her children, Betha worked for many years at Royal Auto Glass, where she met her second husband, Leonard Hudson.  Betha and Leonard have been married for the past 17 years.

Her family calls her Nanny.  Nanny is remembered by all for her kind heart, playing the piano, and her steadfast love of her family.  She called everyone some derivation of “honey” or “darling”. Nanny loved the Lord and shared this love with her offspring.  She attended Trinity Fellowship North Campus in Amarillo.

Our Nanny is survived by her husband, Leonard Hudson of Amarillo; two children from her first marriage (Becky Lancaster of Amarillo, Frankie Lopez of Apex, North Carolina); her brother, Larry Baxter of Amarillo; six grandchildren (Josh, Sarah, Alaina, Josh, Sara, Hannah), 11 great-grandchildren (Lindsay, Melody, Elizabeth, Bryan, Annalisa, Francisco, Ezekiel, Avalynn, Chloe, Kelsie, Bud); and many nieces and nephews.  She has been preceded into Heaven by her father Mart, her mother Eunice, her sister Becky, and her brother Frankie.
