Jane was born September 19, 1930 in Amarillo to H. B. and Mae Belle Hales. She married Robert Daniels on August 9, 1955 in Amarillo. A teacher for over 36 years, she served at Floydada, Pampa, and Amarillo ISD, shaping many lives along the way. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Amarillo Retired Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association and Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon and taught Sunday school. She believed education was very important, helping not only students earn their GED, but also teaching people to apply for citizenship. She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana. A very strong and independent woman, she passed her love of teaching to her children, and grandchildren. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Tech, and shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents, H.B. and Mae Belle Pewitt Hales; 3 sisters, Martha Hales Howard, Edith Mae Hales, and Elizabeth Hales Gordon. Also preceding her in death are five brothers, Lewis, Jones, R.P., Joe Vern, and H.B. Hales, Jr.; a great grandson, Kemper Buster Bertrand; and by her ex-husband, Robert Daniels.
She is survived by her daughters, Jana Daniels Lupu and husband Jarold, and Diana Daniels
Houk; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Bertrand and husband Brandon, and Brenna Ott; 3 great grandchildren, Landyn Ott, Braislyn Bertrand, and Rhielyn Bertrand all of Amarillo; a brother, Richmond Hales and wife Mary Jo of Canyon; a sister, Ruby Herndon and husband Sam of Arizona;
and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
