Betty was born on November 9, 1932 in Dallas to Elisha and Hilda Willoughby. She moved to Amarillo over 25 years ago, where she worked as a teller at First National Bank for over 10 years. Betty enjoyed cooking in her free time, especially pies and cakes. She was energetic and enjoyed being on the go with her friends and family. Most of all, Betty loved her family. Her family was her life and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Heritage Convalescent Center and an extra special thank you to the staff of BSA Hospice for the loving care they showed to Betty during this past year.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Valorie Joyce Norton of Amarillo and Vicki Jeanne Thobe of Fresno, CA; son, Max Norton of Amarillo; sister, Maxine White and husband Arnold of Amarillo; brother, James "Wayne" Willoughby and wife Lila of Rio Rancho, NM; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Rose Willoughby of Rio Rancho, NM and special brother-in-law, Rev. Jimmy Phillips of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Rev. Ward Willoughby and Tom Willoughby; sister, Joyce Phillips and son, Stephen Norton.
