Bill was born November 7, 1934 in Amarillo to Hazel and Ernest Hagee. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He served his country as 2nd Lieutenant in the National Guard. Bill also served the Amarillo Police Department, as a highly decorated officer, and received "Officer of the Year" awards, twice, and served Potter Co. Sheriff's Office, where he made rank of Captain at the age of 28, the youngest ever to attain that rank at that time. Bill was also invited by the Texas Rangers to serve their ranks, but decided to go into the gun trade. He owned Amarillo Trader's, a gun shop in which his love and knowledge of guns flourished. In Amarillo, on August, 27, 1971, Bill married the love of his life, Peggy Killion. He was active in his son's 4-H club, a member of the Coulter Baptist Church, and a realtor/broker for Century 21, where he achieve introduction into Million Dollar Club. Although Bill could do most anything, he was most know as master carpenter, and a man who was strong, tough, kind, funny, and a life teacher with a big heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Suzy Sismore and his beloved grandson, Justin Faulkner.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy, his children, Kathryn Faulkner, Karen Taylor, Holly Nelson, and Miles Hagee and their spouses; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Toni Burris, Rusty Hagee, Jams Hagee, Richard Hagee, Juanita Keadle, and Patty Fraumane, and his much-loved dog, Daisy, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society.
