Bill Quackenbush

Bill Quackenbush, 92, of Amarillo, passed away on February 1, 2022. Memorial Services are 2:00 PM Friday February 4, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Pastor Doug Gehm officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowely Funeral Home.

Bill was born on June 24, 1929 in Bismarck, North Dakota. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and was proud to honor his country. Bill married his wife Dorothy and they spent over 37 wonderful years together. Bill loved fast cars, enjoyed a good drink and valued his time on Sundays watching his football games. He and his grandson, Matthew were inseparable especially when it came to drinks and a good game. Bill liked to take his dog on walks and was always up for something sweet; He drank a root beer every day. Bill was a simple family man who enjoyed the company of his family, giving them a hard time and giving everyone a nick name.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Annie Kruisk; one daughter, Glenda Ferrari; four sons, Donnie Quackenbush, Paul Quackenbush, Gary Kunkel and Jerry Kunkel; two sisters, Lucy Odegaard and Betty Rollenhagen.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Quackenbush of the home; five daughters, Peggy Martella (Gary), Cindy Hudsbeth (Rick), Kathy Marck, Rena Kunkel all of Amarillo and Anna Mosher (Raymond) of Arizona; one son, Larry Quackenbush of Albuquerque, NM.  Survivors also include numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
