Billie Hanson

September 7, 1932 — October 4, 2016

Billie was born September 7, 1932 in Waco, to Monte and Earl Blaisdell. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School and a member of the Church of Christ. On January 12, 1951, she married Frank Silas Hanson in Clayton, NM. She was a stay home mom until Frank became ill in 1969 and soon afterwards, she earned her nursing degree. After receiving her license, she went to work for High Plains Baptist Hospital and worked in several areas of the hospital until her retirement in 1994, from what is now BSA Hospital. She devoted her whole life to service; first her family, then her patients. She spent the remainder of her life loving on her grandchildren who all called her "MiMi". Her special companion "Pepper", her dog, meant the world to her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Silas Hanson, a son, Andrew Hanson and a sister, Bobbie Noble. She is survived by her sons, Matt Hanson and wife Tracy of Colorado Springs, and Mark Hanson and wife Lora of Amarillo; her daughter-in-law, Judith Hanson of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Berg, Frank Hanson, Rachael Talmadge, Vance Hanson, Amy Collett, Ross Hanson, Ryan Hanson and Case Hanson; and 8 great grandchildren.
