Billie Joveta Cooper, 91, passed away December 16, 2023. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday December 20, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial to follow at Llano Cemetery.
Joveta Was born January 27, 1932 in Alanreed, TX to Leo and Ida Holland. She attended and graduated from Sunray High School. Joveta met and married the love of her life, Leon Cooper in New Mexico on April 23, 1953. Together they shared 48 years before his passing. Joveta worked as a bank teller at American National Bank for 37 years before her retirement. She was an avid reader, especially the romance novels. Joveta was on the League Bowling team at Western Bowl. She sang Soprano in quartets, enjoyed singing solos and duets. Jo was a huge George Strait fan, she loved his country music. She would always catch the Dallas Cowboys playing whenever she could. Joveta enjoyed playing cards, dominos and bingo with her friends at the club house.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Gunn; her loving husband Leon.
Survivors include her daughter, Cara Segura and husband Ben of Amarillo; three sisters, Donna Washburn and husband Goldie of Dalhart; Sue Thompson of Alabama; Sharon Dugan and husband Ron of Lake Kiowa, TX; her brother Wendell Holland and wife LaJuana of Amarillo; her grandson, Cooper Segura of Amarillo; her adopted daughter Ruby Berlanga and family of San Antonio; her one of a kind niece Wanda Hamak and husband John and family of Amarillo. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family requests that you wear red, green or any Christmas attire in honor of Joveta.
