Mr. Garrett was born on December 26, 1931 to Asahel and Ruby Garrett. He was raised in Wilburton, OK where he graduated from high school in 1948. He then moved to Amarillo, before enlisting in the United States Army in 1950. Bob served 2 years in the Army, earning a purple heart before being medically discharged in 1952. Upon returning to Amarillo, he attended West Texas State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in accounting. He married Julie Ann Mott in 1956 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 2008.
Bob worked for Diamond Shamrock for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed many family trips to New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma where he loved fishing, camping, boating and spending time with his family. After retirement, he spent much of his time at Lake Fork. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for over 65 years. Most of all, Bob loved his family and cherished being "Papaw" to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 4 daughters, Charlotte Walsh of Amarillo, Debbie Hudler of New Ulm, Sharon Taylor and husband Dub of Boerne and Angie Bagwell and husband Tim of Claude; brother, Tracy Garrett and Georgeann of Houston; sister, Marian Lalli of Norman, OK; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Jim and Kenneth Garrett; brother-in-law, Vigil Lalli and sister-in-law, Barbara Garrett.
