Bobby R. Cooper Sr, 69, husband, father, and grandfather died Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Bob was born on May 19, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee and passed away at home surrounded by his family who loved him so much.
Bob grew up in Memphis following his love of the sports: football, baseball, and basketball. He was very passionate about his love of the Memphis State Tigers, University of Tennessee Volunteers, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Bob graduated from Treadwell High School in 1963, and went on to attend Memphis State University for two years before joining the United States Air Force in 1965, where he served around the world helping to protect our great country for 22 years. While serving in the military, he graduated from Park College with a degree in finance. Bob retired from the Air Force in 1988, and spent the next 13 years working for the civil service in San Antonio and Oklahoma City. He medically retired from the civil service in 2001. After retiring, he moved back to San Antonio where he lived until 2012. In 2012, he moved to Amarillo, Texas to be closer to his grandchildren.
Bob loved his family more than words could say and leaves behind his wife of 49 years , Dottie Cooper, son Bobby Cooper and his wife, Rose Marie , daughter Debbie Hoover and her husband, Brent Hoover, and his grandchildren, Ashlyn, Camille, and Brady. Additionally, he leaves his brother and sister, J.D. Cooper and Barbara Valdes and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was precerded in death by his parents, JD and Juanita Cooper, and his nephew, Wayne.
