Bobby "Bob" Mckee

July 26, 1935 — November 1, 2015

Bob was born July 26, 1935 in Amarillo to Retha and Luther McKee. He graduated from Amarillo High School. Bob began his working career at age 16 as a clerk for Ft. Worth & Denver Railroad. He retired as a Switchman/Breakman for the BNSF after 44 years of service. Bob was a veteran of the army. He married the love of his life, Nancy, in Amarillo on May 15, 1960. They celebrated 47 years of marriage and were members of Washington Avenue Christian Church for 49 years. It was not uncommon to find he and Nancy dancing in their living room to their favorite music on his "jukebox". In his early days, his favorite past time was flying planes and building friendships with the members of his flying club. He loved softball including coaching and traveling with his granddaughters' teams and enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball. In his retirement years, he looked forward to having coffee daily talking about the good ole days with his coffee buddies at McDonalds. He had strong morals and family values. He took pride in being a man of his word and always being on time. He was a hard worker and provider, always putting his family first. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughters, Tracey Heck and husband Randy, and Lindy Whitley and husband Randy all of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Tyler Heck, Hannah Whitley and McKenna Whitley; his sister, Mary Anna Miller and husband Tim of Lake Mary, FL; by his niece, Stephanie Lamm and husband Chris of Nicholasville, KY and by his nephew, Bryan Lewis and wife Cassie of Ashland, VA.
