Brady Hukins, Sr.

January 25, 1963 — January 6, 2017

Brady James Hukins, Sr, 53, went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2017. He was born January 25, 1963 in Hobbs, NM to Ethel Gene and Beldon "Frenchie" Hukins, Sr. There he attended Hobbs High School where he was an athlete all of his childhood and played football for the Hobbs Eagles. He married his high school sweetheart, Bobbi Baker on March 22, 1980. Together they had one son, Brady Hukins, Jr. Brady worked in the oil field industry for many years in Hobbs, as a driller on the rigs and as an operator for Eunice Well Service. Brady and Bobbi then moved to Canyon in 1994, where Brady worked as a crane operator for Panhandle Steel Erectors for 17 years. He then served as campus pastor for BelieversWay Church, which is now Pathpoint Fellowship Church in Amarillo. Most recently, he was employed at Norwood & Co. out of Salina, KS as their crane operator. Brady was extremely proud of his Cajun Heritage, having been raised by Cajun parents. He loved the food, their way of talking, and everything that went along with their laid back way of life. If you knew Brady, you knew he was a jokester, always wanting to laugh and have a good time. He would do just about anything to get those around him to laugh too. He loved going fishing, camping, sitting around a campfire, and hiking every chance he got, either in Ruidoso, Colorado, or Palo Duro Canyon with his family. He relished spending every opportunity he got with his granddaughter, Dawsyn. He and Bobbi had been attending LifeChurch in Oklahoma City for the last several years and BelieversWay Church (Pathpoint Church) for many years prior to that. For his memorial service, at Brady's request, please dress casual...In his own words..."No suits required". Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bobbi Hukins; a son, Brady Hukins, Jr., two sisters, Karen Owens and husband James, and Pam Turner and husband Glenn; a brother, Joey Hukins and wife Cheri; and a granddaughter, Dawsyn Elizabeth Hukins; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th, Ste #100, Amarillo, TX 79106, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
