Brenda Roberson Pride

Brenda Roberson Pride, 65, of Amarillo, TX left this beautiful world, too soon, on Saturday April 21, 2018. The celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. Brenda was born on July 27, 1952 in Pampa, TX to Regnald and Ethel Roberson. She was raised in Miami, TX before moving to Amarillo, where she attended Amarillo schools and finished at Amarillo High School. She married the love of her life, Wayne Pride on April 10, 1981 in Amarillo, TX. Brenda worked early in their marriage before she devoted her life to being a wife and mom. She loved and enjoyed her home and her family, making sure everyone was taken care of. She spent her time watching shows such as HGTV, History Channel, Discovery Channel and a variety of cooking shows; getting ideas to making her dream home and delicious meals. Her favorite hobbies were reading, collecting purses and as many shoes as she could fit in her closet She found the most joy in life by spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was a loving Wife, Mom and "Mimi". She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen making everyone's favorite requests and trying new recipes. She loved, and found peace, spending time in the mountains of New Mexico. It soothed her soul to be there. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne Pride; 3 daughters, Amy Farmer and husband Zachary, Dana Smith and husband Jedediah and D'Neesa Byars and husband Jason, all of Amarillo; brother, Jerry Roberson and wife, Janis, of Plainview; sister, Beverly Ash of Madera, CA; 10 grandchildren and one on the way and 1 great grandchild. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Roberson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society and Don Harrington Cancer Center.
