Brent Mccarty

Brent McCarty, 65, of Amarillo, died Sunday, February 2, 2020. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Chaplain Jeff Messer officiating. Brent was born July 8, 1954 in Borger to Bobby and Jean McCarty. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1971, and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973. He was based at Fort Dix, New Jersey and was stationed in Germany. Brent worked as a truck driver for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and caring for his lawn. He loved dogs. Brent will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Bobby McCarty and wife Laura of Georgia; his sister, Kerry Wilhite and husband Jack of Amarillo; his brother, Dickie McCarty and wife Jan of Amarillo; and a grandson, Kameron McCarty of Hattiesburg, MS. The family suggests memorials may be made to Cornerstone Outreach Ministry, 1111 N. Buchanan St. Amarillo, TX 79107.
