Brian Duane Fincher

Brian was born February 3, 1964 in Ft. Worth to D. Duane and Virginia K. (Sensibaugh) Fincher. He with his family lived in Ft. Worth, Lubbock, Albuquerque, NM, and Lakewood, CO, before moving to Amarillo in 1977. Although a Texan by birth, he often mentioned that he was from Colorado and was a great fan of the Denver Broncos. Brian was an active member of the Boy Scouts with packs and troops in Lakewood and Amarillo. He loved the outdoors. For two summers, he hiked the trails at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and to the Hava Supai Indian Village, just west of the main entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. In 1981, he attended the Boy Scout National Jamboree at A.P. Hill, Virginia. He was an Eagle Scout. Brian was a service greeter for Bill Frank's Automotive and then for several years a professional truck driver for Baldwin Transportation Services. He kept a scaled map of the United States on his breakfast room wall marked with the various highways and locations he had driven in all 48 states. Just prior to his major surgery in May, 2010 he was a mechanic for Baldwin. Brian spent his last year at Plum Creek Healthcare Residence in Amarillo. Prior to that, he was a resident of Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude. God used both facilities to help Brian in many ways. Brian married Frankie Jan Shields Keeling in 2000. There were no children of this marriage; although Frankie had two adult sons and an adult daughter from a previous marriage. Frankie preceded him in death in April, 2012. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Kimberly Kay Fincher Zeman and husband Rod Zeman; one nephew, Zachary Zeman and wife Kayla. The family suggests memorials be made to the Golden Spread Council, at BSA, 1600 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106; or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174; or a church/ organization of your choice.
