Carl James Gentry

Carl was born on August 19, 1944 in Oceanside, CA to Carl Kurz and Margaret Martin. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served until his honorable discharge after 2 years of service. He moved to Amarillo from Indianapolis in 1977. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Carl loved to hunt, fish and bowl. He raced cars here in Amarillo for over 17 years. He is survived by his sons, Michael Gentry and fiancé Stephanie Greer of Amarillo and Matthew Dyas of Amarillo; daughters, Tracie Lowe and husband Curtis of Ft. Worth and Shelby Dyas of Lubbock; brother, Lionel Gentry and wife Marilyn of Amarillo; sister, Debbie Kurz of Savannah, Georgia and 3 grandchildren, Jordan and Kylie of Ft. Worth and Ashley of Kelso, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Pamela Hodson and twin sons.
