Carla Stapleton

Carla Stapleton, 68, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. Carla was born July 6, 1952 in Grundy, Virginia to Hubert and Roberta Stapleton. She graduated from Elkhorn City High School, and went on to earn her associate degree at Morehead State University as a registered nurse. Carla worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She then became a travelling nurse, which landed her in Amarillo, Texas. She made her home base Amarillo, as she continued working as a travelling nurse around the southwest part of the country. In her spare time, Carla enjoyed reading and doing needlepoint. She was a big movie buff, who loved listening to country music, especially Chris Stapleton. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her sister, Donna Paul and husband Bruce of Louisville, KY; two nephews, Justin McCord and wife Emily of Louisville, KY, and Barry McCord of Remington, VA; and several cousins.
