As a young man, he excelled at his studies at the Boys Ranch and extra-curricular activities; even going as far as skipping the 11th grade, graduating early and to win State champion wrestler his senior year of high school. You would never know this of Carlos, as he was a quiet humble man, never boasting in his successes just simply passing this wisdom he gained through the journey to his children and grandchildren. After his high school years, he worked for SPS as a meter reader, working his way up to a Power Trader of electricity, that required him to move to Denver CO for a while. Later on, he worked for United plumbing as an apprentice and later became a journeyman till his retirement in 2016. Many who knew Carlos knew that his proudest moments were spent watching his grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan. He would never pass up the opportunity to pull out the ol fishin pole or pool cue, as he enjoyed those activities with his family and friends. The Boys Ranch played a very important role in his life, molding him into the humble man we all knew. He was a man of his word and would give you the shirt off his back if that was all he had. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
