Carolyn Jewel "Nana" Towe, 68, died Friday, April 18, 2014.
Celebration of life services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Grace Community Church with Bill Gehm, pastor, officiating and Ralph McClelland as eulogist. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Carolyn was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Kenneth and Grace Weaver. She moved to Amarillo as a child, where she graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1963. She married Alton Towe on June 10, 1995, in Amarillo. Carolyn devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family. Most of all, she loved being Nana to her family. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and her last-minute road trips with her best friend, Mary Jackson. Carol Towe and Mary Jackson were like day and night. You cannot have day without night or night without day. Her family will miss their midnight trips to Waffle House and eating at Cattleman's.
She was preceded in death by her parents; best friend, Mary Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Alton Towe of Amarillo; three sons, Paul Nicholson, Nathan Barton and wife Amy and Jason Barton, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Teresa Herrera and husband Phillip of Amarillo and Tonya Castillo and husband Sixto of California; a stepdaughter, Faye Morgan; a brother, Ralphie Doyle McClelland and wife Marla of Amarillo; extended children, Laura Wertz and husband Darryl, Shawn Leggett and husband Michael and Jerry Jackson, all of Amarillo; grandchildren, M.J., Jamie, Seis, Tate, Bennett, Dakota, Freya, Tyler, Katy, Peyton, Kambree, Coby, Remi, Grace, Cassie, Andrew, Kaycie, Megan, Mikenna, Colton, Justice, Kelsey, Kaylyn, Sharee, Jovaan, Kelby, Maddy, Jacob and Ella; great-grandchildren, Eli, Amari, Braeleigh, Zavian and Madi; a nephew, Mike and wife April; three grand nieces and nephew, Carly, Kyle and Sarah; and her sisters in Christ, Darlene Carroll and Maria Heath.
